What it Means To be an Accredited Greenwich Home Watch Organization
If you are a second homeowner, or plan to be away from your Greenwich, CT property for extended periods, having someone to watch over your home is critical to establishing peace of mind when you can’t be there. We understand you wouldn’t be comfortable having just anyone take care of your home while you’re away. That’s why we started Greenwich Home Watch, and why we became certified home watch professionals by the National Home Watch Association (NHWA).
What is Home Watch?
Home Watch, also referred to as house watch, home concierge, caretaker, and property watch, is a service that provides consistent monitoring of your property during your absence. At Greenwich Home Watch we provide comprehensive Home Checks on a regularly scheduled basis. Just a few of the services we provide include checking for unusual noises or mechanical equipment alarms, monitoring of HVAC equipment, visual inspections of the exterior, bringing in packages, and post storm damage inspections, among others.
Why Trust Greenwich Home Watch?
Greenwich Home watch consists of a team of highly skilled home maintenance and service professionals with years of experience servicing homes in Greenwich, CT. We are an extension of Duffy Home Solutions – the luxury home construction and property management company. Our experience qualifies us to effectively identify and evaluate mechanical issues, property damage, and irregularities that require attention. And when an issue does arise, we are qualified to fix the problem if needed.
Certified Home Watch Professionals
At Greenwich Home Watch we’ve taken our qualifications much further than a traditional caretaker or home concierge. Our organization is an Accredited Member of the National Home Watch Association (NHWA). And our team members are Certified Home Watch Professionals. In addition, our leaders have completed the NHWA Home Watch Boot Camp.
What is the NHWA?
The NHWA is a professional organization that governs the accreditation of Home Watch professionals. They have developed a set of rigorous standards and ethical guidelines that make up their curriculum. Under their accreditation process, NHWA members are subject to background checks and vetted for best business practices. Members also must be fully bonded and insured, and sworn to represent the best interest of the homeowners that they service.
In addition to these best practices, NHWA accredited members must pass the Certified Home Watch Professional (CHWP) exam with a minimum score of 90%. And members must complete continuing education every two years and have a score of 90% or higher on the recertification exam. Continuing education ensures that there is no lapse in qualification. These rigorous requirements are something that traditional caretakers and other property watch services don’t have.
NHWA Boot Camp
The NHWA Boot Camp takes Home Watch training one step further. In this program, Certified Home Watch Professionals learn by performing Home Watch visits alongside of NHWA instructors at actual homes. This training is an excellent way to experience real world issues that cannot be duplicated in the classroom.
Greenwich Home Watch leaders are fully NHWA Accredited and have also completed the boot camp. This is the level of commitment that we bring to all of our Greenwich homeowner clients. When you put your trust in the hands of our qualified, experienced professionals you’ll have true peace of mind that your home is being cared for the right way. And because we are home maintenance professionals, we are uniquely qualified to identify and fix issues should they arise. That’s comforting to know.
